4 False. It was delayed because many people in London had this plague. ‘Sweating sickness’ was a Tudor disease which arrived with Henry Tudor at the Battle of Bosworth Field. It’s probable that the disease was carried by the soldiers he brought with him from France. Sweating sickness (or ‘the sweat’) arrived without warning in the morning or at night. Shivering was followed by sweating and then terrible weakness. If your body stopped sweating then you started peeing. If you survived two days then you’d probably live. Many died in the first 24 hours. The good news is that children and wrinklies were spared this disease usually, and so were the poor. It struck more upper class men and, weirdly, seemed to stop at the Borders of Scotland every time it broke out. Maybe the disease hated the bagpipes!
